It gives me great pleasure to offer my best greetings to all the participants at the 3rd Asia Cup Bridge Championship, which takes place from 4th to 10th June 2016 in Goa, being hosted by the Bridge Federation of India.
Both personally and on behalf of the World Bridge Federation, I would like to congratulate the Bridge Federation of India, the Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle East, the Asia Pacific Bridge Federation and their Presidents, my dear friends Prasad Keni, Ashok Goel and Esther Sophonpanich. They, all together, have spared no effort to support this event and I am confident that it will achieve once again, as for the past editions, a remarkable success.
The wonderful Goa, with its history, beauty, colour, flavour and scent is ready and waiting to welcome you and offer you its friendly and warm hospitality in accordance with its age-old culture and traditions.
I am confident, I am sure that this great bridge event, participated also by the players from South Pacific Bridge Federation, will underline once again the values of our beloved sport and our motto “Bridge for Peace” will be honored and celebrated in the best way.
I will be proud and honored to meet you and I want to express my gratitude to BFI for inviting me, giving me the opportunity to enjoy with you this marvelous and exciting bridge adventure.
I am proud to promote this event, which truly confirms that bridge is a hobby, sport and culture that unifies the bridge players all over the world.
I am confident that players from all over will participate in this Championship and it will achieve great success, gratifying not only the participants, who will have the occasion to renew old friendships and to make the new ones, but also the organizers who worked and are working with enthusiasm, passion and dedication.. It is also a wonderful opportunity to turn the spotlight on bridge as a sport for the mind and to help develop its popularity.
Over and above the success of the Championships, we are also intent on welcoming you warmly to our city and on showing you the beauty and charm of Goa.
